GEBERT MARIN was born in Cumaná of a Venezuelan father Rafael Marín Focault and Italiand mother Rosa D’flora de Marín. The Art Expression arose on him being still a young man.

He graduated as a Dentist at Universidad de Los Andes, then he lived in Buenos Aires (Argentina) where he obtained his master degree in Dentistry. During that time he worked not only as a dentist but also as a Self learner Painter. He spent most of the time of his life taking the shape of his creations using different kinds of materials as well as different techniques which have been well known since Three Decades.

His work takes part in different Private collections which have been exhibited in many cities all around the country at some very important individual and collective exhibitions.

In 1998, he directed the Contemporaneous Art Museum from Cumaná at the Sucre State. He also participate in the Organizer Committee for the First International Biennial Exhibition of Art in Cumaná as well as for the Fourth Visual Arts Biennial Exhibition of the East Coast During this same year he assumed the position of Secretary of the Organization Department of the Cumana's Theater at the Sucre State.

Gebert Marin is a many - sided painter and inside the Art he is not only a vigorous country side painter but also alive colorist who translate in an easy and honest way the Flora, Animal and Sea World from the Venezuelan Tropics. His canvas are completely involved with the smell of our nature and with the violent brightness that splits the sun all over the fresh sailing boats at the wonderful beaches.

Gebert, goes over the conquest of the light from the Color and the Venezuelan Tropic 'His Muse" (he would say so) as main theme.

Among other painters, he stands out, not only for the taste he is developing around the public but also because of the freedom he performs with the Tropical Light and Countryside into Art.

Gebert is a painter whose canvas reveals a great talent and a soul that knows how to feel the fresh and harmonious countryside full of life and sun. As a child in front of a toy, his canvas also show that his soul knows how to smile in front of the Nature.

Gebert is both a painter and a teacher, he says so. A self learner who paints in the imagination and today when I see his latest works I really want to congratulate him because he can pass as fast and well as he wants from one technique to another. This really shows that his explosive strength from those beaches is just spontaneity. As soon as the painter has imagined his motifs the only thing he thinks about is in painting that.

The construction perfectly balanced and the contrast between the first drawing at half shadow and brightness of the light which surrounds the main theme, give to this picture a poetry where Gebert's personality is discovered. This exposition represents a great success not only from the artistical point of view but also for the receptiveness from the public who crowding our beloved museum let us know how eager they are for seeing beautiful exhibitions such as the. "Some time later, after you have painted everything, you realize that there is something else and you become into a researcher. As a result, during my life as an artist I worked with oil, glass, wood, mirror with eggshell and now I am using acrylic plaster in the canvas in order to find a bigger texture which can be proved through the relief at the surface. A pigmentation at strength and vigor gives live to the color."
